British Heritage Dog Breeds

I wonder why all British Breeds are not defined as Heritage breeds, I own Scottish Terriers and although they are not endangered by numbers registered, they are still a British breed and are numerically very few on the show scene.
Most registrations are made by breeders who breed quite a lot of puppies but who are not members of any breed clubs and who use their own stud dogs, the Scottish Terrier who conforms to the K C standard is declining every year. I think we need to protect all of our British breeds.

Paul K here, let me put your mind at test. Please read our mission statement which says in the first paragraph:

All British breeds are part of our heritage however, in the context of this web site, British Heritage Dog Breeds are defined as those breeds which are in need of some assistance, like an ancient listed building or an important work of art.

We welcome all British breeds, indeed all dog lovers if that own another breed or don't even have a dog at all! Everyone is welcome. My own feeling is that we would love to work with the Scottish Terrier and their owners, they will have a huge contribution to make towards the revival of British and Irish breeds. The Scottie is one of the most recognisable and loved of all UK breeds. So welcome aboard, please feel free to join us.
