produced for April Fool's Day 2010

Sadly the KeRnel Club doesn't exist! But we could do with some support for our British Heritage Dog Breeds...

Kernel Club to hold British Breeds Championship Dog Show

The UK Kernel Club announced today that in recognition of the huge contribution that British dog breeds have made to our nation's culture and in acknowledgment of the fact that no other nation has produced so many indigenous dog breeds, they plan to hold a celebration dog show at the O2 centre, formally "The Dome" in London's historic Greenwich area. The Kernel Club are particularly keen to promote those British Heritage Dog Breeds whose numbers are giving cause for concern, the 26 breeds they have designated as "Vulnerable Native Breeds".

A Kernel Club spokesperson commented. "We feel that April 1st is the ideal day to state our commitment to our own British and Irish dog breeds and in particular those breeds which we regard as being "Vulnerable". We plan to offer our full support to these breeds and will do all we can to ensure their long term future."

Do they really mean that? Just asking because of the date and O2 would be a nightmare to get to with dogs.

Why the 02? We have to remember that a large proportion of owners with these breeds come from the Wales, the North and Scotland, wouldn't the obvious choice be Stoneleigh? We should bear in mind the welfare of the dogs travelling these long distances.
