Help:

We have been going to ring craft classes for about six to eight weeks now and at the end of each month they hold a knock out match. Bertie got through to the final four last month which. was amazing because my wife Cathie never placed Bertie on the table for the judge and everyone rushed up afterwards to tell her what to do next time ect.

My question is should a nine month old Dandie have the adult coat around the neck area at or around nine months old?
Bertie now has a fine colour on his back and the topnot is soo white but it's the neck area which looks wrong.

We can't strip the hair because it is all soft almost puppy hair soft.
Has anyone got any advice? HELP.

If I knew how to post a photo on this site I would just to show his neck hair.

Hi Ray,

And welcome to British Heritage Dog Breeds from Hilary and I

As your question is so specific, can I suggest that you contact me direct, via the contact page and I will try and offer some advice.

There are no hard and fast rules and each coat seems to have specific needs, some Dandies may never grow hard coat on their necks, whilst others need a helping hand.

Thanks for joining BHDB
