I really do appreciate it happens a lot and i will be the first to admit not knowing all breeds but where is the labrador in a dandie?
Last year we met a lovely lady walking her westie, she had quite a doggie conversation with us and then asked if he was a westie!!!!!!!!!! Considering both dogs were stood side by side and looked absolutely nothing like even similar i came to the conclusion that she was blind!! 99% of the time i like that i can tell someone what he is and that they are interested but every so often...... As for 'happy accident' well....speechless.
Saying all this we have a gentleman in our street who bought a 'labradoodle' he is now aware he was conned when it grew into an irish wolfhound cross with aparently no labrador or poodle!

Lost track of how many times my Kerry has been called a "snout-zer"! Scottie is another favourite and when in need of a trim she also gets the labradoole treatment.
I admit, however, that I'm pretrty hopeless on some breeds....members of the Spitz family in particular. I wouldn't know my Husky from my Malamute or my Finnish from my German Spitz!! LOL

A lot of people point to my ETT an confidently announce MinPin. Once I was asked 'is that a daschund?'
With you on the spitz breeds, total ignorance, but then I don't make guesses, I ask.
