Hi All,
My name is Steven, I live in East London and I am the proud owner of a 7 month old Welsh Terrier boy, Ianto. He's an absolute charmer, a born comedian with a real cheeky grin! He came to me rather sadly as I lost my Mini Schnauzer, Henry, in early February suddenly. Life just wasnt the same without him but but I went ahead to a planned visit to Crufts in March with a heavy heart. Thats where I first met the breed. And when a I found out the first Weshie I met was also called Henry (and wouldnt get off my lap) I took it as a sign. It was all a bit of a whirlwind after that, within hours of my first introduction, I had met a bree der with a litter available and the following day made a mamouth trek from London to Burnley to visit the litter. And came away with little 8 week old Ianto. We went from Burnley to Wales for a 4 week bonding session and I really havnt looked back.
He's a very calm young dog, a real people pleaser. He's doing well at obidence training now after a very rocky start , the poor trainer had holes in the bottom of her trousers after demonstrating "loose Lead" techniques with him and had to resort to a concealed water pistol... but he's coming along well now. He recently won "Most Handsome" Dog in the Tower Hamlets Dog Show. He came 4th best Puppy in The Brigton Companion Dog Show out of 120 entrants and came 3rd overall in the Terrier Class.
He has yet to meet another Weshie, but is happy to hang out with his other doggie friends. I have now just found the Welfat website and we are both looking forward to the Richmond Park, Hampstead Heath and Regents Park rambles later in the year.
