Debbie Robinson reports on the UK Irish Water Spaniel  'Mingle' on Putney Heath, 3rd October, 2009.

"Fifteen and a half Irish Water Spaniels met for a walk at the beginning of October. The ‘half’ was Mace, an IWS-cross-Munsterlander. Mace looks like a hairy-tailed IWS, but his character and ‘chattiness’ are apparently all Munsterlander.

We were a mixture of regular Minglers, plus several families starting out on their first adventure with an IWS, including a couple of re-homed adult IWS. Marley tested this particular South London walk on Putney Heath for us with his owners, Norma & Roberta, and we weren’t disappointed.

Despite a suggestion of rain in the air, we stayed dry ... until the dogs had been in the lake and started shaking all over us!

John Charlton, our "bewhiskered" Mr Dandie Dinmont, reports from the BHDB marquee at Weston Park:

"The Midland Game Fair 2009 was at Weston Park near Telford run by Countryman Fairs. Toni from Countryman Fairs went to a lot of effort to give the British Heritage Dog Breeds a nice marquee with big pens and banners over each entrance saying “British Heritage Dog Breeds”.

Toni was there early to meet everyone as they arrived and came round at regular intervals to keep us informed, bring us a packed lunch and check that the men had been round regularly to supply fresh water for all the dogs. I personally think we were very well looked after and will definitely go again.

Sarah Allsop, Vice Chairman of Darlington Dog Show Society and Kris Stevens once again showed their Society's committment to our vulnerable British Heritage Dog Breeds. Set in the glorious grounds of Newby Hall vulnerable British Heritage Dog Breeds were provided with a marquee for the Breed Displays and Parades were held in the Main Ring.

Our roving TV professional, Simon Rishton, whose work you might have seen if you have watched horse racing on TV, was there to record one of the parades.

The first report of the CLA Game Fair 2009 has arrived from John Charlton and his Dandie Dinmonts:

"The Game Fair went well and Foggy & Misty (the Dandies) excelled themselves. The first day we were there for eleven hours as there were two parades during the day with a Grand Parade at the end. The other days there were just two parades.
